We’ll look at the player’s stats, my observations, and other publication’s scouting reports if available.Let’s take a look at our 16th-best Toronto Blue Jays prospect, Landen Maroudis! Getting to know Landen Maroudis…Position: Starting pitcher Throws: RightBorn: December 16, 2004Acquired: 4th-round, 2023 draftPrevious ranking: 15thPitching for Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater, Florida, Maroudis was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 draft by the Blue Jays. He signed for a reported bonus of $1.5 million, well above the $547,100 slot value for this pick. Like many pitchers the Blue Jays select out of high school, Maroudis didn’t make his professional debut until the following season.Although it was brief, it was a heck of a start to his professional career by the right-handed pitcher. Starting the season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, Maroudis threw four perfect innings in his professional debut, striking out five batters in the process. His second start saw him give up his first career earned run while walking and striking out four batters. Maroudis pitched 2.1 innings in his final start with three strikeouts but left that game early. It turned out that the then-19-year-old needed surgery for his elbow like many Blue Jays’ minor league pitching prospects did in 2024. In late May, Maroudis underwent an operation that put a brace in his pitching elbow. Pitchers usually return quicker with this surgery rather than full Tommy John surgery, so he’ll likely be back at some point in 2025.Despite the injury, Maroudis ranked as MLB Pipeline’s 14th-best Blue Jays prospect in their mid-season update. Standing at 6’3”, 190 lbs, Maroudis reached 93-95 mph with his fastball, showed an advanced changeup, and has two excellent breaking balls, a slider and a curveball. He’s still young and hopefully, the missed season doesn’t impact his development too much. The holiday pop-up bar Miracle has opened in the former Rieger Hotel restaurant space in Kansas City. [email protected] A long year of work inside the historic building at 1924 Main St. culminated Friday with (almost certainly) a visit from the most famous celebrity couple on planet Earth. Restaurateurs Bret Springs and Zach Marten — who own the Crossroads and Leawood locations of The Rockhill Grille and partner with Joe’s Kansas City at County Road Ice House in the Power & Light District — have been renovating the structure formerly occupied by the Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange with plans to turn it into a bar called The Wise Guy Tavern. (The Rieger closed in 2020.)Before unveiling The Wise Guy Tavern, though, they are hosting the holiday pop-up Miracle there. Miracle on Main Street opened to the public Thursday. On Friday night, social media lit up with reports that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stopped by for a private party in Miracle on Main Street’s banquet room. Here’s what to know about this suddenly newsy space: Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, partied with other players and their significant others at Miracle on Main Friday night. Instagram/Brittany Mahomes Miracle on Main StreetSprings and Marten have been hosting Miracle since 2018. The pop-up was previously held upstairs at The Rockhill Grille in the Crossroads. This year, they’re hosting two locations: one on the Country Club Plaza at 4807 Jefferson St. and one at 1924 Main St. The menu features Christmas-themed cocktails like the Christmapolitan (vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary, absinthe mist) and pizza. The rooms are decked out in sensory-overload levels of red, white and green holiday decor; and holiday music blasts over the speakers all night long. Both Miracle pop-ups are open every day from

We have an HVAC unit with 1050 CFM. Using an optimal face velocity of 500 fpm and assuming the grille has a free area of 70%, the required grille size is:Grille Area = 1050 ÷ (500 x 0.7) x 144Grille Area = 432 sq.inFrom the formula, we need a grille size that has a grille area of 432 sq.in. So, any grille sizes that have 432 sq.in of grille area or above can be used. However, for an airflow of 1050 CFM, we may be able to use a smaller grille size like a 16 inches by 25 inches grille which only has a grille area of 400 sq.in, given that we account for the actual free area of the grille.Accounting for the Free Area of the GrilleEarlier, we calculated the grille based for 1050 CFM based on a free area of 70%. Now, what if the actual free area of the grille is 80%?Grille Area (sq.in) = Airflow (cfm) ÷ Face Velocity (fpm) ÷ Grille Free Area (%) x 144Grille Area (sq.in) = 1050 ÷ 500 ÷ 0.8 x 144Grille Area (sq.in) = 378 sq.inWith 80% free area, the resulted grille area is now 378 sq.in and a smaller grille size like 16×25 (400 sq.in) can be used. So, the free area of a grille significantly affects how much airflow it can take without causing too much noise. However, we can’t find the free area data from the grille spec. sheet. But, we can reverse calculate to find out.Grille Free Area CalculationThe free area of a grille is the net space available for the air to pass through the grille. The free area of a grille can be calculated by rearranging the grille area formula as follows:Grille Free Area (%) = [ Airflow (cfm) x 144 ] ÷ [ Face Velocity (fpm) x Grille Area (sq.in) ] x 100For example:Grille Free Area = (1050 x 144) ÷ (500 x 378) x 100Grille Free Area = 80%Alternatively, you can refer to the AK factor of the grille to calculate its free area. The AK factor can be found in the performance datasheet published by grille manufacturers. The AK factor of a grille is expressed in terms of square inch or square feet. For example, a 10×4 grille has an AK factor of 0.14. Thus, the effective area of the grille is 0.14 sqft or 20.16 sq.in. Given that the total area of the 10×4 grille is 40 sq.in, the resulted free area in terms of percentage is 50.4%.Not many sellers publish their the free area and airflow capacity of their grilles. But, we know that smaller grilles have lesser free area. So, I plotted a graph showing the drop in the free area against the airflow as follows:Grille Free Area Against AirflowFrom the above graph, we can see that grille size is directly proportional to the airflow which airflow is basically grille size given that the face velocity is fixed.Nonetheless, the free area of a grille varies depending on the manufacturer and the
